Capones Vista Beach Resort

During the Pope weekend last January, I couldn't miss the opportunity to relax and visit the beach!

Luckily, my friend is about to go home to Zambales during that time and asked me if I want to come with her. Zambales, for me, is the land where all mangoes are sweet. Aside for my love of mangoes, this place has a lot of beautiful islands plus it's just a few hours away from Manila! :D

I've been to Zambales before but this time, we decided to stay at Capones Vista Beach Resort located in Brgy Pundaquit, San Antonio. I do advise that you book your reservations in advance (about 3-5 days ahead) especially during holidays like this.

A downpayment amounting to half of your room's rate will serve as your reservation fee. All you need to do is to pay thru BPI's over-the-counter and send a copy of the payment slip to Capones Beach Resort via email.

We were grateful for my friend's dad who drove us on our way to the resort. But if you're commuting, you may take a tricycle upon reaching the town of San Antonio.

DAY 1

Check-in time is 2pm, we arrived at around 2:30pm already. We were informed that we were the last guests they were waiting for. Imagine if we didn't reserved! It's fully booked!

Capones Vista Resort
What our room looks like (Panorama view)
The resort have 2 swimming pools.
The larger one, located in front of our room, is 6 ft. deep.
The smaller pool, which is near the beach, is roughly around 3 ft,

And of course, the beach front.

And just as we thought that the sun has already bid its goodbye. . .

The skies danced in different colors... From orange to pink to red...

It was such an overwhelming experience. As I sat there at the center of my paradise, I realized that beautiful things come unexpectedly. It may happen in a short span of time but it may remain there forever. That there are things that you should just be grateful for, that at least you were given the chance to experience it.

DAY 2

Up early! Today's activity is Island Hopping!

See that boat over there? That's our boat!
Yep, we're only 2 and that boat can occupy up to 10-15pax. Guess that's the disadvantage of travelling in a small number, you also have few people to share the expenses. But that won't stop us from our activity.

So let the Island Hopping begins. . .

CAMARA ISLAND

Unfortunately, we were not allowed by our bangkeros to go down to Camara Island. They said that it is advisable to visit the island during summer so that the waves are not too high.

CAPONES ISLAND

Is it just me or can you also see a man's face???
(upper left is the head with its eyes and nose)

Everything in this island was beautiful... The white sand, the clear water, the view, even how the sea-salt is carried by the wind thru my eyes were beautiful... I hope this island would be taken care of...
God is good, God is great.

ANAWANGIN COVE

Amongst the three, I think Anawangin is the most popular. Being the most commercialized, expect the place not to be as "virgin" as Capones Island. Though this is more suitable for swimming since the water in this side of the island is calm.

For Php150.00, you may inform your bangkeros that you would want to do Snorkeling.

Note: Inform them beforehand so that they can bring there snorkeling gear.

Disclaimer: If you've tried Snorkeling before, don't expect to see a lot of sea creatures here. If you're lucky enough, you'll find nemo :)

"Lato" or Seaweed

Look what our kind bangkero dived for us. It's a type of seaweed called Lato in tagalog. We ate it as is, as instructed by our bangkero.

Trivia: Did you know that this kind of seaweed is the one that can be made into gulaman? :)

When we arrived back at the resort, there was just enough time for us to take a bath and pack our things. You can ask the reception to call a tricycle for you, ask the driver to bring you to the town proper of San Antonio. From there, you can already ride a bus back to Manila. :)
